Candidate FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before getting started.

What’s the difference between online and face-to-face marketing?

Digital marketing plays an important role in building brand awareness, but face-to-face marketing creates something technology can’t always replicate: genuine human connection.

At Apollo Associates, we specialise in customer acquisition through meaningful, in-person conversations. By engaging directly with customers, we’re able to build trust, answer questions in real time and create memorable brand experiences that drive measurable commercial results.

Both approaches have their place. We focus on the one that turns conversations into customers.

Is this a commission-only role?

No.

We offer both a competitive day-rate model and uncapped commission opportunities across our entry-level positions.

Our commission structure rewards those who want to maximise their earning potential, while the day rate provides stability as you develop your confidence and experience. We believe in creating an environment where people are supported from day one and rewarded as their performance grows.

Do I need previous sales experience?

Not at all.

We’re far more interested in your attitude than your CV. Many of our team members joined Apollo Associates without any previous experience in sales or marketing.

If you’re motivated, coachable and willing to learn, we’ll provide the training, guidance and support needed to help you succeed. We believe potential can take people much further than experience alone.

What training will I receive?

Learning and development are central to everything we do.

From your first day, you’ll be supported through a structured training programme that combines practical experience with ongoing coaching and mentorship.

Our development includes:

  • Hands-on field training
  • Classroom-based learning
  • Daily coaching sessions
  • One-to-one mentorship
  • Professional and leadership development

Each new team member is partnered with an experienced mentor who provides guidance throughout their journey. Mornings are focused on learning and preparation, while afternoons provide the opportunity to apply new skills in real-world environments.

We believe the best way to develop confidence is through experience, supported by continuous coaching.

What does a typical day look like?

Every day is structured around learning, performance and continuous improvement.

For entry-level positions, mornings are dedicated to team meetings, goal setting, training workshops and personal development. Afternoons are spent representing our clients through face-to-face customer acquisition, where you’ll apply your training and continue building your confidence.

As your career progresses into leadership, your responsibilities naturally evolve to include coaching, planning, business development and supporting the growth of your team.

Are there opportunities for progression?

Absolutely.

Apollo Associates is a growing organisation with ambitious plans across the UK and internationally. As we expand, we’re committed to developing future leaders from within the business.

Progression isn’t determined by time served. It’s earned through commitment, performance, leadership and a willingness to continue learning.

Wherever you begin your journey, you’ll have a clear development pathway, regular mentoring and ongoing support to help you reach the next stage of your career.

What qualities do you look for in a candidate?

Experience isn’t our priority.

Character is.

We’re looking for individuals who demonstrate:

  • Ambition
  • A positive attitude
  • Strong communication skills
  • Professionalism
  • Reliability
  • A willingness to learn
  • A commitment to personal development

If you’re prepared to work hard, embrace feedback and continually improve, we’ll provide the opportunity to build a rewarding career.

How do you recognise and celebrate success?

Recognition is an important part of our culture.

We believe hard work should never go unnoticed, which is why we celebrate both individual and team achievements throughout the year.

Recognition can include career progression, performance bonuses, competitions, vouchers, team experiences and international travel incentives. More importantly, we create an environment where effort is valued, achievements are acknowledged and success inspires others to grow.

How would you describe the company culture?

Our culture is built around development, collaboration and shared ambition.

We’ve created an environment where people are encouraged to challenge themselves, support one another and strive for continuous improvement. While performance is important, so is the way we achieve it, through integrity, teamwork and mutual respect.

As Apollo continues to grow, we’re committed to maintaining a workplace where people feel motivated, valued and excited about what’s possible.

What are Apollo Associates’ plans for the future?

Our ambition is to build one of the UK’s leading customer acquisition organisations before expanding into international markets.

Over the coming years, we’ll continue strengthening our presence across the UK while preparing for expansion into the United States, with Miami and New York forming the first stage of that journey.

As the business grows, so will the opportunities available to our people. Developing future leaders remains just as important as developing the organisation itself.

Why don’t you publicly list the clients you work with?

Many of the organisations we partner with operate under confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.

Protecting our clients’ commercial strategies and maintaining their trust is a fundamental part of how we work. While we aren’t always able to publicly share the brands we represent, we’re happy to discuss the nature of our work, our experience and our approach during the recruitment process.

Discretion is one of the reasons our clients choose to partner with Apollo Associates.
